Have you ever seen a twitter thread (or, in this case, two!) that so perfectly expressed everything you’d felt over months and months of harassment persistent? With all credit to @blackblobyellowcone, who is clearly amazing and completely gets it– not just why us women write and read the erotica that we do, but the history behind the censorship we, as a gender, have experienced. Bravo.
have you ever thought about how, for kara, the part that she was most involved in for her suit was probably the symbol for the house of el? because winn originally thought it was just “s for super,” he’d probably just redesign the same symbol–yellow background, maybe a bit minimized as his own personal touch, almost a dot at the end of the “s.” except, instead you have the (and yes i am using quotes on purpose) “s” with just a yellow trim lining, with the end instead a rounded dot you have a straight line
this is what i’m talking about–along with the fact that kara has yellow lining on the top. winn doesn’t have any reason to make that change, he just thinks it’s a cool calling card but for kara that is the symbol of her family, it means everything to kara and it very well signify two different things, since they aren’t siblings, they’re cousins, along with the fact that kara is technically the elder one i just think it’s interesting
canon: character is seen eating curly fries in one (1) episode
every fic in existence: they’ve never eaten anything besides curly fries in their entire life. their entire world revolves around curly fries. they sleep in a nest of curly fries and took a carton of them to junior prom. there’s always a backup fry in their pocket in case they become hypofrycemic
old person: i need you to go to this place
me: ok just give me the name of the place or the address and i can find it no problem
old person: you go down the road for exactly 9 intersections and turn left
me: the address
old person: you’re gonna go down that road for about the length of six football fields until you come to a grey building, turn there
me: the address
old person: that’ll take you into the woods, you’re gonna want to take a turn at every elm tree you see– i trust you know how to identify elms
me: address
old person: by then you will have reached the gnome encampment, their chief will give you a lantern that will help you on your quest, but only after you help him find his magic beans,
So if we extrapolate from this one-off line in episode fifteen, as well as this tweet by the creator and the answers given at this comic con panel from 2014, we can infer that this character’s relationship with salad is more complex than it first appears …
