Have you drawn Martian Manhunter before? I think he would have been a perfect fit on The Terrifics team. Do you know if he’s coming back in some capacity soon, or if that team could expand? He would work great as a pacifist superhero or as someone dealing with depression. Last of his race. Eternally lonely. Dealing with identity. Finding a place to call home. A lot of potential there. Things like telepathy, telekinesis, shapeshfting, invisibility, intangibility, all work as relevant metaphors.

I have, just not for published work. He’s definitely a favorite of mine, and somebody I talk to Rob Williams all the time about bringing back again. For now the Terrifics you see are the Terrifics you’ll get, and it’ll stick to four members for reasons. I agree with a few of your takes on him and maybe less so the others, but he is a fantastic character, albeit a very tricky one to get a handle on in the books. I remember seeing a writer years ago refer to him as being a very internal character, and that it’s part of what makes him so difficult to write, particularly in comics. It took me years to finally realize what that meant. When I did, I realized how much I relate to J’onn, and I’ve been a big fan since.

I’ve got a design for him in my back pocket, riffing on his New 52 look, and this is part of it. Even this is a year or so old now and I see things I might change. But just in case somebody asks me out of the blue if I’ve got a take on the guy, I’m ready to go.

He was actually part of the Outsiders pitch Rob Williams and I put together not too long ago, when I’d forgotten that he’d recently been a part of that team before.

Anyway, yes, GREAT character. And even if I don’t know that The Terrifics is really the right place for him, I’d love to work on him eventually.

Hey just wanted to share this headcanon with you because I can’t get it out of my head and you are an amazing writer. What if kryptonian babies have some kind of imprint like ducks and a de-aged Kara start following space dad everywhere?

stranger-who-writes-fiction:

A few things:

1.) Thank you for sharing this wonderful headcanon, I’ve been thinking about it for days
2.) Thank you for the kind comment
3.) Because I’ve been thinking about it for days, I wrote something. It is, of course, ridiculous, and probably not worthy of this headcanon, but here we go:

“…I’ve
seen this before.”

“Sir?”

J’onn’s
eyes narrow, and his tone is grave. “Venusian Mind Worms. I’m sure
of it.”
