Imagine how many people thought Lena Luthor was a workaholic when the truth was that she had no friends

Imagine how many times Lena lied and said she was a workaholic when coworkers or assistants said she needed to spend time outside of work when the truth was that she had no friends

And then imagine Lena going out somewhere with Kara one day and seeing old co-workers or employees and they’re just completely shocked to see Lena out of the office so they decide to talk to her like ‘hey, finally decided to take a break, I see’ and Kara’s confused because she and Lena go out all the time and she says as much and then the others are confused because ‘no, sweetie, she’s a workaholic; never leaves the office unless it’s to sleep’.

Imagine Lena slowly trying to disappear and failing horribly because both Kara and the other people want to know what’s going on; Kara wanting to know why she never used to go out and the others wanting to know why she’s suddenly out all the time so she lies her way out of it; she made herself a deal that she needed to stop working so much because it wasn’t good for her and everyone accepts it but Kara but she doesn’t say anything until later.

Imagine Kara pulling Lena aside same time later in the night and asking why she lied and Lena refusing to meet her eyes and fiddling with whatever’s in her hands and promising to tell Kara everything over ice cream another time and Kara holding her to that.

Imagine them both being at Kara’s, all curled up on the sofa and then Kara decided to bring it up again and Lena quietly admits that the reason she never used to go out was because she never had anyone to go out with.

Imagine Kara’s heart breaking for Lena and pulling her into a hug that Lena’s surprised to receive because ‘honestly Kara, I’m fine; it’s no big deal’ but she lets Kara hug her because she’s enjoying it too much to let go.

Imagine Lena being invited on a night out by Kara to the alien bar and being surprised when they meet up with the rest of the gang and being wary at first but winds up having the time of her life. Winn talks to her about technology, Alex joins in shortly after. Maggie is just as terrible at pool as she is and they bond over making references to lesbians in TV shows. James is quick to jump to her defence when a random alien tries to hit on her and Kara is too buys handling something else to rescue her and J’onn is like the father she never had, cutting her off when she’d had too much to drink and glaring at anyone who looks at her in a way he doesn’t like.

Imagine Lena asking Kara why she’s done this and Kara quietly admitting that she felt bad that Lena hadn’t had any friends and that she wanted to share hers and Lena being so touched by it she almost cries.

Imagine them all tripping back to Kara’s that night and just collapsing on random surfaces to sleep and imagine Lena waking up in the morning wrapped around Kara and looking around to see an apartment full of friends and imagine how she finally feels like she belongs.
