oh, man, thank you! i’m actually really glad you asked this question, because i haven’t really had an opportunity to explain my thoughts about it yet!
(to be clear, all of my thoughts on this are all based upon the recent media and not on everything in the supergirl or wonder woman comic book canon.)
honestly, i just feel like diana and kara would be really great for each other – as heroes and as people. in general, their life experiences are pretty homologous; they both come from distant places built upon v different practices and values, and yet when they later find themselves in a world that is so different, but also fraught with suffering and tragedy… they devote themselves to helping those who need it, even when people close to them try to stand in their way. in that way, they understand one another. there’s a sort of.. spiritual kinship there.
but as powerful as they are, they’re not immune to the horrors of the world. it weighs on them both. as they share the will to help, so they share the burdens of guilt and sorrow. diana weeps for the villages that burned those many years ago; kara loses sleep over thoughts that, one day, she won’t be fast enough or strong enough (and no one will ever convince me otherwise). and tbh that’s where, i think, the real beauty of a potential relationship between them lies.
bc when diana loses faith in their efforts, kara gives her hope. when kara feels like pain is all she has left, diana reminds her that there is strength in love.
idk.. i rly just think that together they make the world, and each other, better.

But you’re not your angsty background, and their personalities just mesh so so well. Diana of Themyscira, GOD KILLER, DEFENDER OF HUMANKIND, SLAYER OF AIRIES!!!! Kar Zor-El, LAST DAUGHTER OF KRYPTON, DEFENDER OF EARTH, DREAM WALKER (yo the comics depict my girl the way she really is, a mother fukin badass).
But then you have their <i>chosen </i> lives. Diana Prince, Distracted By Babies, Slays In A Skirt Suit, Pottery Lover (also, she feels kinship with clay and that’s why she does pottery, i will fite you on this). Kara Danvers, Keeper of Every Stray, Fall of Every CEO Literally Everywhere, Sworn Protector of Potstickers!
These two fuckers are legit perfect for each other. They can’t hurt each other, they have the same values (and yo, both will and have killed when it was necessary), and they’re glorious rays of sunshine. Plus, Diana’s been around for a long time, I think she could help Kara process the ridiculous amount of rage still bubbling in her veins. And Kara would 100% make sure Diana never lost hope in humanity (by baby pics? Yes, by baby pics).
So ANYWAY, that got lengthy, but them’s the facts. Thanks @grammarkid for the shoutout. (Do we both live to yell about these two? … … not exclusively for that purpose but… there have been days…)
Plus, I mean, their ideal date would be Nazi punching followed by destroying every buffet in a twenty mile radius and that is my kind of aesthetic.
