Inktober 2017, 18/31: The Fox and the Leopard
THE FOX and the Leopard disputed which was the more beautiful of the two. The Leopard exhibited one by one the various spots which decorated his skin. But the Fox, interrupting him, said, “And how much more beautiful than you am I, who am decorated, not in body, but in mind.”
A fine coat is not always an indication of an attractive mind.

“A fox passing through the wood on business of his own stopped several minutes and sniffed.
‘Hobbits!’
he thought. ‘Well, what next? I have heard of strange doings in this
land, but I have seldom heard of a hobbit sleeping out of doors under a
tree. Three of them! There’s something mighty queer behind this.’ He was
quite right, but he never found out any more about it.”
