Taking this from @ariestess because I keep wanting to post stuff from WIPs and keep missing Six Sentence Sunday!
It’s #WiPWednesday. Pick one or more of the following to answer:
What are you working on right now? What should you be working on, but
aren’t? What can you share a preview of?
Projects I’m working on right now:
- A rewrite of an original fiction project
- Supergirl Captain America AU
- Finding more sources to research queer culture in America in the 30s
What I should be working on, but am not:
- Supercatlex Hellfire fic
- Inputting data for my girlfriend’s coding project
- The story for a D&D-style RPG I’m DMing
And here is a preview of some more of the Captain America AU (and by preview of course I mean first draft that might get written completely differently by the time it is posted):
“Karl,” Lena says over the radio, and Kara bites back a sob, can’t think
of losing her, too, but—she needs to do this and they’re watching her,
she can’t reveal herself, she’ll survive this—(if she doesn’t…)
About
to hit the ice, Kara thinks of how she never got the chance to go
search for Alex’s body, about how her whole life on Earth has been about
searching for something or another when what her parents sent her to do
was protect. She is protecting people now.
Love is Alex not
hesitating to lay down her life for Kara’s, even when she knew Kara
would have survived because she’s an alien. It’s Kara willing to die for
Alex’s people when there’s no Alex left to die for, when she knows in
her heart Kal-El isn’t coming. (Kal-El never knows there’s another Kryptonian to search for, not his cousin, not the ship of them pulled into orbit with him).
