I feel like I should elaborate that the prompt I sent would be
best with some Maggie thrown in the mix for maximum teasing
“Danvers?” Lucy asked, looking up from her never ending pile of paperwork.
“Lane.”
“Can I help you?” Concern drifted into her tone. Alex’s shoulders drooped, her crossed arms missing their usual intimidation. She looked completely worn out.
It was Tuesday. Lucy almost forgot that Tuesday was Alex’s mandated therapy day.
“Shrink gave me homework.”
“Oh… kay?”
Alex sighed and rolled her eyes. “What’s the field policy for agents with service dogs?”
“Depends on the dog’s training and the agent’s role, Danvers.” Lucy put her pen down and sat back in her chair. She motioned for her fidgety agent to sit. “We’re ADA compliant, of course. But there’s only so much we can do to promise the safety and security of agents and their dogs.”
Instead of sitting, Alex gripped at the back of the chair. Her fingers pressed so tightly they were turning white, and she wouldn’t meet Lucy’s eyes.
“Alex?”
“If the agent did what I do? Would- could- would I be able to go into the field?”
“Alex.” Lucy sighed. She dragged her hand across her face and rubbed at her eyes. “It depends on the diagnosis. And the dog.”

you hear a tapping at your window at night, you’re terrified but you go and look out. a feeling of relief washes over you as you realize its just your local cryptid asking for your wifi password, they want to message their friend, but most cell companies don’t sell data plans to nonhuman beings, so they just wanna use ur wifi for a sec
After about the 10th cryptid asks, you decide to put that spare room to use. You open up an internet cafe for cryptids only. As thanks, you are protected from abductions, sacrifices, and animal mutilations. Word gets around to their friends, and now legends from all over the state are coming just to seek asylum and relax for a bit from being hunted. Because your Cryptid Cafe is on your own property, any hunters can be charged for trespassing. More and more show up, and are now taking up the house. They’re nice and respectful to you, so you’re okay with this.
When witch!Lucy has her own place, this is what happens. Then her girlfriends want to get a place together. Lucy can’t just abandon the cryptids, but they can’t follow her either. She decided to suck it up and continue to pay rent on the place because one day, she’s gonna need their help with trouble magnets like—-
Oh. Ooohhh.
2×19. Before the trio are a strong trio. Before there’s talk about living in the same space. Alex goes missing. Alex can’t be found. Alex may just lose her life this time.
Lucy calls her house. She asks if any of the cryptids are willing to do her this favor. She will give them her soul in exchange if that’s what it takes. They say they’ll help her. And they do.
Alex is too busy trying to stay afloat. She too busy trying to keep the panic down. She too busy ignoring the cold seeping into her limbs. She doesn’t see the shadows move, there are no lights beyond her tank. She doesn’t see the claws and paws and too many fingered hands pressing against the walls.
The glass shatters. The water rushes out. Something foul fills her nose and she can’t handle the stench of rotting corpse on top of everything else.
Supergirl, doing another flight around the city, hears something call her name. It sends a shiver down her spine, the way it echoes in her ears, between buildings, and settles low in her heart. She follows the haunted call after checking in with the DEO.
Alex wakes up in the medbay of the DEO.
Lucy upgrades her internet to the best National City has to offer. She also does her best to keep every flavor of Mountain Dew, Oreo, and Kit Kat available. Kara doesn’t mind the trips to Japan, but she’s learned Lucy will never tell her where all those Kit Kats go.
Cryptids are such sugar fiends, after all.
Sometimes, I remember that Jenna Dewan is a vegan, and can’t help but imagine Lucy Lane as one.
Except, nobody really notices. She’s really quiet about it, doesn’t bring it up. Just goes about checking ingredient lists and asking what’s in stuff. People think, maybe she’s got an allergy or something. They’ve all seen her eat chocolate and stuff, after all, how would they know it’s all vegan alternatives?
Then Maggie shows up, who is a little more vocal about being vegan. Not in a ‘yes everyone, I’m a vegan and it’s so much healthier’ way, but she’ll mention that she can’t eat certain things because she’s vegan, giving the actual reason.
The two of them talk about it a bit, about their reasons and give suggestions.
Then, game night, and they’re ordering food, and when Maggie orders her stuff, Lucy goes ‘oh, that sounds good, make it two of those.’ Everyone else is like, ‘you know that’s vegan, right?’ and Lucy is just ‘you know I’m vegan, right?’
And everyone else (except James, because James k ows because they dated)like just freezes like ’…..no, when the fuck did that happen’
‘oh, you know, almost ten years ago now’
this was basically a joke I made ages ago, but, uh, it’s now my actual hc for Lucy?
oops
But thank you. I did enjoy the short briefness. Though I can’t enjoy it fully since I still have Beta Alex. Lucy/Maggie wrecking my brain.
So, following 2×19, when Alpha!Lucy and Omega!Maggie realize just how much Beta!Alex means to them. They lay claim to her the night she’s returned to them. It’s obvious to everyone and no one is surprised. Except Alex. She’s not expecting to get who she wanted, so she doesn’t know how to deal. Alphas and Omegas ignore Betas, this is fact and Alex has learned to live with it. Almost. For the most part.
But now she has Lucy making sure Alex keeps her therapy and doc appointments, Maggie is buying her waterless shampoo and finding water rich food for her to eat. While Alex has time to herself, she’s never alone; if neither Lucy nor Maggie are available, Kara or James or Winn are within eyesight. Alex had no idea how to react to an Alpha looking out for her and an Omega supporting her.
Maggie has to reign Lucy in sometimes, subtly, because Lucy’s overprotective Alpha mode would do their friendship with someone like Alex more harm than good. Maggie tells Lucy they need to make their intentions clear, but should also wait until Alex isn’t eyeing every elevator like it’s a trap. When it does come out into the open, it is, of course, at three a.m. after a nightmare.
Usually it’s Kara who spends the night with Alex since Kara doesn’t need as much sleep and can handle any threat that isn’t kryptonite. If one of the other two don’t have work the next day, though, then Lucy or Maggie have gotten into the habit of cuddle Alex to sleep, must to the Beta’s bemusement. This particular night, Alex wakes up flailing and Lucy reacts more on instinct then coherent thought.
“Ours,” Lucy quietly growls as she wraps Alex in a hug. “Going nowhere.”
“What does that even mean?” Alex asks as she lets herself relax. Her muscles are tied from being tense and ready to fight or flight. If Lucy wants to hold her up for a bit, Alex will take it.
Maggie shifts closer, more able and willing to give Alex space at night. “It means we’re going to ask you on a date soon.”
Alex has no idea how to compute that. Sure, having over protective friends letting their instincts run a bit rampant while she recovered wasn’t exactly unexpected. But actual dating?
“We all have off on Friday,” Lucy says. “I was thinking lunch.”
Alex feels herself nod. “Lunch works.”
“Good. Panic in the morning. Sleep now.”
And, well, it was sometimes a better idea to listen to the Alpha.
Bonus: First Kiss
Major Detective, background Director Sanvers, feat. genderfluid!Lucy
Found a prompt chart for Pride Month and figured I’d try my hand at it. I’m a day behind because life. Parings are random.
An extra bonus chapter because I missed the first day and have spent the last two making people cry. Figured I’d make up for it by writing something fluffy.
@nerdsbianhokie @change-the-rules thanks for letting me run with genderfluid!Lucy
Lucy looked into the mirror and adjusted her battered, black West Point cap. She took a breath as she looked herself over. She eyed the ribbon, dyed to match the colours of the bisexual flag, tying her hair back and the JAG insignia pinned to her hat. Together, both made it clear who she was: a queer soldier, and proud of it.
Still, she couldn’t help but feel like something was missing. She glanced back up at her hat and turned it around.
That’s not it.
Lucy flipped it back around to normal. She let a frustrated breath. Everything looked fine, but there was something missing.
“Lucy?”
She turned around to see Maggie standing behind her. She had a bemused look on her face.
“Hey,” she said. “You okay?”
“Yeah, I’m fine,” Lucy said quickly. “I’m just, you know, getting, getting ready.”
Maggie raised an eyebrow at her. “Uh huh.”
Lucy tried not to fidget. As a lawyer and a soldier who had done two tours to Afghanistan, she did not fidget.
Alex has been working herself half to death. Lucy finds a program where you can go in and pet future service puppies (to help socialize them but like). Alex learns that heaven is a place on earth when 16 puppies are involved.

Closet
Director Sanvers, Lucy-centric
Found a prompt chart for Pride Month and figured I’d try my hand at it. I’m a day behind because life. Parings are random.
@bathtimefunduck it’s tomorrow in DC.
It was Lucy’s first year at West Point when Kate Kane was removed from the Academy. She had watched from her quarters as the redhead was escorted from the grounds, flanked by two MPs. At first, no one could understand why Kate had left. Then the truth hit the barracks in a hushed whisper: Kate Kane was a lesbian, and instead of denying it, she had chosen to uphold the Honor Code. Kate’s dismissal terrified Lucy. She was bisexual. If the brass kicked out the their First Captain just for being gay, what would they do to her? And so, following Kate’s departure, Lucy dove so far into the closet that she wasn’t sure she would ever come back out, even if she managed to graduate.
imagine person a of your polyship has a sibling who is very important to them, and so their partners take it upon themselves to get to know a’s sibling
The second Kara had stepped through the front door of the Danvers home all those years ago, Alex’s core programming had gone from ‘Be the best’ to ‘Protect Kara, no matter what.’ More than a little resentful at the newest addition to her family, Alex had fought it tooth and nail. But when push came to shove, she was the one breaking noses and egos whenever someone tried to take advantage of Kara’s alien naivety.
As the years went on, it took its toll on her dating life. Her partners didn’t quite understand why she would drop everything at the drop of a hat to check up on Kara. Throw in Eliza constant expressing her disappointment in Alex, a dual MD/PhD program, and the stress of protecting Kara’s secret as best she could, and it was little wonder she had ended up having a massive downward spiral that ended with her in a drunk tank. Even after a considerable amount of therapy and patching things up between her and her mother, Alex still had a tendency to put Kara above everything else.
By the time Kara came out as Supergirl, Alex had pretty much given up the hope of finding someone else. Besides, years of covert work and countless lies had blurred the lines of what she considered to be the Real Alex and Work Alex. Work Alex was more than happy to detain a man who had threatened her sister without a warrant. Real Alex was more than willing to throw down to protect her sister, but tired quickly of the means it took to do that.
Then Lucy had entered her life. Lucy, who understood what it was like being held up to a sister who could do no wrong in the eyes of the world. Lucy, who understood crushing parental expectation. She had walked into the DEO, saw through Work Alex, and immediately started to punch holes in the wall that separated Work Alex and Real Alex. Arrest and near-deportation to Cadmus aside, Alex found herself drawn to the shorter woman. She quickly pushed those feelings aside because not only was Alex straight, but Lucy was Kara’s friend.
Then Maggie showed up and promptly kicked that idea to pieces. Even if Alex hadn’t had the meltdown that she had, she was pretty sure that Maggie would have figured out her connection to Supergirl soon enough. To her surprise, Maggie had taken it better than she expected. She looked out for Kara much like Alex did. And for once, Alex had hope that maybe she could still protect Kara without having to sacrifice her own happiness.
And then Lucy met Maggie and turned Alex’s world on its head. Neither one of them were content to see Alex drive herself into the ground trying to keep her Work self and her Real self apart. Nor were they particularly enthused by Alex’s lack of self-regard whenever Kara’s life was on the line. So they both conspired with each other to get to know Kara much like Alex knew her. To make Alex see that she wasn’t the only one who cared about her sister or willing to go to serious lengths to keep her safe.

Maggie
A knock at her door woke Kara up. She blinked blearily a few times before she managed to get herself to stand. She shuffled over to the door. She opened it.
“Alex, I’m fine, I’m just–” she cut herself off abruptly when she realised that it wasn’t Alex standing before her. It was Maggie. “Maggie?”
Maggie grinned. “Hey Little Danvers.” She held up a bag of what smelled like potstickers and chicken soup. Kara’s stomach rumbled at the scent. “Mind if I come in?”
“Oh yeah, of course.” Kara moved aside to let Maggie in.
Maggie stepped inside. She looked around the apartment and frowned. The blinds were wide open, allowing for maximum sunlight to flood the space and give it a nice warm feel. Maggie knew that Kara loved the sunlight more than most humans did, but she also knew that the only reason Kara would have the blinds this open was because she had blown out her powers and was now sick. She glanced over to the coffee table. A few tissue boxes and a small, nearly full rubbish bin confirmed her suspicions.
“Alex know you blew out your powers?” she asked, looking over her shoulder at Kara.
Kara could feel her face heat up. “No,” she mumbled. Her latest fight had taken more out of her last night than she expected. She’d had enough power to make it home, only to wake up with a scratchy throat and a killer headache.
A thought struck Kara. “Wait, how did you know?”
Maggie shrugged. “Gut feeling.” She had been on scene for the latest attack the night before and could only watch as Kara was beaten down seven city blocks before she managed to get the upper hand. Something had told her that the younger Danvers wouldn’t be happy in the morning.
Kara eyed her suspicious. Had Alex said something to Maggie? She couldn’t see how, considering she hadn’t even told Alex yet. Before she could ask, several harsh coughs wrack her chest.
Maggie was by Kara’s side before she could blink. “C’mon Little Danvers, let’s get you back to the couch,” she said. She helped settle an unprotesting Kara on the couch.
“’M fine,” Kara grumbled.
Maggie rolled her eyes. “Uh huh, sure,” she said. Kara pouted. Maggie placed a hand on Kara’s forehead. It was warm, but not terribly so. “I’m going to go heat up some soup, you just lay there, alright?”
Kara huffed, but otherwise didn’t protest. Maggie gently pulled one of the throw blankets over Kara before making her way to the kitchen. She unpacked the food and shoved it into the microwave. She started it up and pulled out her phone to see a text from Lucy.
How is she?
Sick and stubborn, like Alex.
Lol. A bubble popped up, signaling that Lucy was still typing. So her powers are out?
Yeah. Looks like they went out sometime last night. Maggie shook her head. I’m heating up some soup and potstickers for her right now.
Ok. I should be out within the hour, assuming Adamson’s speech doesn’t go over. Again.
Maggie had to fight back a laugh at that. She could picture Lucy’s scowl. Lucy’s disdain for the flamboyant, Guliani-esque prosector was well known by her and Alex.
Ok. See you in a bit. Love you. A thought struck Maggie. Can you bring one of Alex’s sweatshirts? Think Kara might need it.
Will do. Love you too ❤

Lucy
Lucy used the spare key in Kara’s fake potted plant to get inside her apartment. She walked in to see Kara, fast asleep, curled up against Maggie. Maggie’s head turned at the noise.
“Hey,” she whispered.
“How long has she been out?” Lucy asked, kicking off her heels and shrugging off her blazer.
“’Bout 30 minutes, give or take.” She motioned at the coffee table. “Managed to get her to eat about half the soup and six potstickers before she fell asleep.”
Lucy nodded. “That’s good.” The fact that Kara still had the appetite to put all of that away before she fell asleep was a good sign. She reached into her purse and pulled out Alex’s worn Stanford sweatshirt.
Maggie gently nudged Kara awake when she saw it. “Hey, Kara.”
Kara’s forehead scrunched up, but otherwise there was no reaction. Maggie and Lucy exchanged looks before Maggie gave Kara a slightly firmer poke.
“C’mon Kara, up for a few minutes, alright?”
Kara huffed and opened her eyes. Maggie helped her sit up as Lucy passed her Alex’s sweatshirt. She showed it to Kara. Her bleary eyes lit up at the sight.
“Need help?”
At first, Kara wanted to say no, but her body felt so heavy and an ache that hadn’t been there before was now present at full force.
“Yeah.”
Maggie worked to help Kara pull it over her head while Lucy went to get more blankets. Soon, Kara was settled back up against her. It didn’t take long for Kara’s breathing to even out as she fell back asleep.
Lucy reemerged with a Stitch blanket that she knew was Kara’s favorite when she was sick, but would emphatically deny when she was coherent. She tucked it around Kara before sitting on Maggie’s left and cuddling up next to her.
Maggie ran her free hand through Lucy’s hair, gently undoing the tight twist she had it in.
“J’onn know that Kara’s powers are out?”
Lucy hummed the affirmative. “He’s informed Alex and Morrison, who says that we should bring Kara in first thing in the morning.”
Maggie nodded. “You think Alex will be home tonight?”
“Probably.” Lucy shrugged. “I texted her and told her that we’re taking care of Kara, but you know how she gets.”
Maggie nodded. Calm as Alex was under pressure, she was usually the first to panic when Kara solar-flared. Of course, a panicked Alex usually translated into extra snark, increased recklessness, and a sharp rise in the number of bodies being sent to the medbay.
Lucy leaned her head against Maggie’s shoulder. Soon, both of them dozed off alongside Kara.
–
Alex
Alex rushed up the steps of Kara’s apartment two at a time. Her heart pounded against her ribs. She’d gotten Lucy’s text informing her that Kara had solar flared and, despite J’onn’s reassurances that Kara was being well taken care of, immediately jumped on the next flight home. She flung the stairwell door open and skid the last fifteen steps to Kara’s apartment. She took a moment to catch her breath and gather herself before using her key to get in.
She froze at the sight in front of her. Lucy was curled up against Maggie, who had her arm wrapped protectively around Kara. There was a half eaten order of potstickers and soup.
Lucy was the first one awake at the sound of the door opening. She shifted slightly and glanced over her shoulder to see Alex standing in the doorway like a deer in the headlights. She waved.
“Hey, Danvers,” she greeted, voice rough with sleep.
Alex quickly hurried over. “Hey.” By now, Maggie was starting to stir. Only Kara remained asleep, a true sign of just how much the solar flare had taken out of her.
Maggie blinked. “You just get home?”
“Yeah.” Alex nodded. “Took the first flight home after J’onn called.” She glanced at Kara and bit her lip. “Thank you, both of you for…” She motioned to Kara.
Lucy leaned forward and gently placed a kiss on Alex’s lips, drawing a noise of surprise from her.
“You don’t have to thank us, Danvers,” she said.
“But–”
“Don’t worry about it, Alex,” Maggie interrupted, but not unkindly. She gave her a lopsided smile that seemed to emphasize her dimples. “We get it.”
We get just how important Kara is to you and it doesn’t bother us, was left unsaid, but Alex heard it nonetheless. Her shoulders slumped in relief. She hadn’t felt that kind of relief since before the three of them had become a triad. Up until now, she felt like she had been walking on eggshells trying to balance her relationship with the two of them and the duty that had been engrained in her as a teenager to keep her sister safe.
Alex stood. “Let me at least help get her into bed,” she said. “That couch can get pretty uncomfortable after a while.”
Maggie groaned as she moved. “No kidding.”
Alex reached out and shook Kara awake. “Hey, Kar, wake up,” she urged.
Kara’s eyes fluttered open. She was more than a little confused to see Alex standing in her apartment.
“’Lex?” she asked groggily. “W’at are you d’ing here? Thought you…” she yawned. “Had a con’frence.”
“Got bored and came home early,” Alex lied almost immediately. Lucy and Maggie traded exasperated looks that went unnoticed by the sisters. She gave Kara a slight smile. “Probably a good thing I did.” She tilted her head. “Think you can stand?”
Kara nodded. She tried to push herself up and almost immediately regretted the move. She swayed on her feet for half a second before Alex and Maggie caught her.
“Easy, Kara,” Alex said. “Just one foot in front of the other.”
“We got you, Little Danvers,” Maggie assured her.
Slowly but surely the three of them made their way to Kara’s bedroom. Lucy took the rear with the blankets firmly in her arms. The three of them helped Kara into bed and then exchanged looks with each other. Surprisingly enough, Lucy was the one who broke the stalemate. She rolled her eyes and before either Maggie or Alex could react, she was crawling into bed and curling up next to Kara.
Maggie fought back a laugh at Lucy’s actions, but followed nonetheless. Alex was the last to join in on the cuddle pile.
Kara cuddled closer to Maggie. “You’ve got the warm’st girlfriends, ‘Lex,” she grumbled. “They’re…” Another yawn. “The best.”
Alex smiled warmly. “Yeah, they are.” She kissed Maggie and reached over to intertwine her fingers with Lucy, who was just out of reach to kiss. Lucy squeezed her fingers and turned the smile.
Alex settled up against Maggie and let her eyes drift shut. It was great to beloved, but it was so much more profound to be understood, and they understood her better than anyone. She wouldn’t trade her lovers for anything.
So, we’ve had witch!Lucy, and now witch!Alex, but what about witch!Maggie?
Witch!Maggie is raised with magic, but in secret. It’s passed down her mother’s line; how to make food filling and healing when times are lean, how to keep things out of the house, what to do when things slip in, and how to tell real people from Others. Her father doesn’t know, isn’t allowed to know; the age of science has made magic obsolete in most places.
But in the fields, the mountains, and the all the places electricity doesn’t smother every other kind of energy, magic thrives. Magic is necessary. Her father has to rely on science and evidence that can be verified by anyone and everyone. He can’t understand magic.
When Maggie is sent to her father’s sister, she keeps silent her small magics. She practices what she knows. She has to write down everything again; her mother didn’t slip her notebook into the suitcase. Maggie doesn’t want to think if it was a choice on her mother’s part.
Maggie wards every residence she calls her own. She keeps her skills up by working magic into her meals, keeps an Eye out for things that are neither human nor alien, and learns how to layer protective and notice-me-not magics into her clothing. Her patrol car, and later her Charger, are constant works in projects with weaving magic into machines. She never goes without her kevlar vest, but she doesn’t worry about grazes and headshots.
Her grandmother visits her once, and only once. She gives Maggie a candle that will never burn low. It’s meant to keep Maggie connected to the family magics. They light it together. Maggie never again sees her grandmother alive.
Maggie uses her magic on cases to follow energy trails, to hone in on ill intent and desperation and fear. She can pick out lies, can stare down suspects because they aren’t as scary or as clever as the Things in the cornfields of her childhood. She trades with pigeons treats for a direction to go in.
After her first two misadventures with Alex Danvers, Maggie waits for Alex to leave her jacket unattended before attacking it with enough protective magic to leak into every other piece of clothing it’ll touch over the next few days. The work leaves Maggie drained, but it’s worth it.
For Lucy, Maggie layers calm into Lucy’s uniform polos. Running a base is not easy, and while Lucy can handle it, Alex is, apparently, not the only idiot doing stupid shit to complete an objective.
Maggie always tries to get a hold their plates and take out boxes to pour magic into the food; health, safety, and relaxation are what she focuses on most. She plays with their hair, when she can, and hum the spells she can recall for faded nightmares and a restful sleep. (Never a sleep without nightmares; the mind needs to process things, this is known)
Maggie’s secret comes out when Alex is taken hostage. The attacking aliens abscond with her before Kara can reach the area. Kara can’t track Alex, and her sub-dermal tracker isn’t appearing. Maggie’s quick location spell points up.
Alex is on a spaceship. Maggie has no idea how to tell anyone that.
Not an hour after Alex is taken, she is delivered to the DEO by very apologetic aliens, who also turn themselves in. When Maggie runs over to Alex and wraps her in a hug, the aliens flinch away. They say, “We’re sorry. We will accept the punishment of taking who is yours.”
Alex, Lucy, Kara, and J’onn are giving Maggie confused looks. Maggie aims for the same. “What are you talking about?”
“We didn’t think humans remembered,” the aliens say. “We thought they have forgotten. But you remember, and you are powerful. We have no wish to challenge you.”
Maggie decides to use this to her advantage and deflect if possible. “Then please cooperate with us.”
They agree, and go with some agents without trouble.
Alex immediately focuses on Maggie. “They ran scans. They found some kind of energy on my gear, and it sure as hell isn’t kryptonite. Then they scanned the DEO. You lit up and made them PANIC. Babe, I don’t care what you are, I love you, but what is going on?”
Maggie looks at the four people who had stood by her for this long. Everything she has brought into their lives, good and bad, they have seen through to the end. “Do you believe in magic?”
I sort of want to join the Director Sanvers universe. And put them in A/B/O pairings. I have lots of prompts for another ship I write for but I am more into SG these days. Anyway In your opinion how would you rank Lucy/Maggie/Alex. All Alphas All Betas? Alex Omege, Maggie Beta, Lucy Alpha? Alex Beta Maggie/Lucy Alphas?
Welcome!!
I’ll be honest, I have no idea where I would put them in that.
While I do read a/b/o stuff, I’m very critical of it when I do, and will turn back if it’s going a way I don’t like, which is, tbh, very easy for a/b/o stuff. I mostly look for stuff that gets into the world of it, and is less about the actual sex stuff. So, it isn’t really a universe setting I think about much.
For where Lucy/Maggie/Alex could go, I think arguments could go any way. I’m sure most people would go Alex Omega, Maggie Beta, Lucy Alpha because that matches the top/vers/bottom pattern a lot of people write them in.
But, as I said, arguments could be made for any combo, esp with how the plot goes, if it is a new thing to humans, if any suppressants are involved, stuff like that.
I see your tags of Alex as a beta being new and interesting and give you this AU in which Alex and Maggie don’t meet as they do in canon:
Alex has to hide her disappointment when she learns she’s a beta. No one cares about betas. Alphas are the large and in charge ones, and omegas are the only ones alphas ever look at. Neither wants a beta when there’s a chance to get the other. She knows she’s just gonna have to settle for another beta. And, sure, there might be a beta she actually falls in love with, but she is bitter about being ignored by 2/3’s of the population.
(Sometimes, Alex can convince herself she would’ve made a shit alpha and too desperate an omega.)
