hold open auditions, and cast nobodies. just as the original rent did. 

im mostly saying this so i could audition for mark

But not just in NYC. And just like the original, do it under the guise of looking for rock stars. That is something I would love to see.

Yep. She was a wedding and bar mitzvah singer before she was cast

not only idina but literally everybody in the cast was a nobody. i remember somebody (who wasnt the maim cast, i think?) said that they hesitated to start working on rent because their unemployment check paid more. rent was that kind of show
