my ko-fi, if you’re so inclined
Promise me you won’t let anything happen to him.
Kara takes in a stray cat, because of course she does. A stray kitten no less.
“It was the only survivor in its litter – I don’t know what got them – a dog or a fox maybe?” She’s pacing and wringing her hands. “Except it was in like downtown so probably not a fox? And I took him to the vet and the vet says he needs to be bottle fed kitten formula every four hours because he’s only barely more than two weeks old and Alex is going to kill me if I ask for another night off Supergirl duty. I know you probably have a million better things to do and I’d ask someone else if I could because I’m sure you don’t want to but there’s no one else and do you think you could just take care of him for one night? Just one and I’ll find someone else I swear.”
She finally stops pacing. The floor is worn beneath her feet. Cat keeps her face carefully neutral, while Kara’s mouth sits in a tight frown.
“When you finally confirmed you were Supergirl, this was not exactly the type of help I expected to offer you,” Cat says.
