What do you think Kara’s favorite video game is? Pokemon? Skyrim? World of Warcraft? Call of Duty?

comickergirl:

Ooooh, that’s a fun question! You know, I hadn’t really thought too much about it before? But taking into account what we know about Kara…perhaps we can arrive at an answer.

OKAY, SO:

– I think starting with what we know of game night is a good place to start because, well. Games. Settlers of Catan has been both mentioned and shown on the show–Carter says that Kara “plays Settlers of Catan almost as well as” Cat does. (I have to assume that Cat Grant, Queen of all Media, CEO of CatCo, is pretty great at games focused on acquiring resources.)

– They also had an epic Nerf Gun battle, according to Carter, so one miiiiiight be able to argue first person shooters, but. We lack sufficient evidence re: Kara’s Nerf skills. Sure, the battle was epic, but that doesn’t tell us how Kara fared.

– Right then! Thus far, we know that Kara’s down with longer-form, tabletop type games. Not just the lighter fair of Taboo.

– Also something to consider: One of Kara’s best buddies is Winn Schott, who can NOT ONLY provide top notch recommendations, but he would 1.) Always be down for multiplayer campaigns, 2.) could probably hook you up with some sweet, sweet mods, and 3.) is gonna have pretty much…any system/platform one might need.

– SO NO LIMITS

– Kara’s at least somewhat into fantasy. She name drops Harry Potter.

– Other things to keep in mind: Kara has a crazy schedule, so time management might be something of an issue. Kara also likes to be doing stuff–she’s not really into being idle. Might affect attention span.

– To review: familiar with more RPG-type games, into fantasy, has nerdy friends, but might need something that’s not so dense, so as to maximize on minimal time and/or attention span.

THUS, we can reasonably conclude that Kara’s FAVORITE VIDEO GAME IS:

Mario Kart. Girl loves her some Mario Kart.

XD Nah, kidding, kidding. (…Mostly.) In all seriousness, I could see her loving something like Breath of the Wild. Open world fantasy RPG that’s just as much about the journey as it is the destination. It does lack the key multiplayer component that I think would be something Kara would really want, but. The communal gaming aspect of the Switch platform itself–that you can take it and carry it around and pass it off to buddies with relative ease–might make up for that.
