are we talking about the actors or the characters here? character-wise, Blaine, Ryder, Joe, and Sugar are played as white aren’t they?

I wish there was some clarity on this by the writers. 

i think there has been in the lack of addressing these characters’ races. Mercedes, Unique, Tina, Jake Puckerman, Mike, Santana… all of their races were made obvious (just in case we weren’t sure lol). They even made sure to address Noah Puckerman’s when we were wondering – having Zizes make the comment about mistakenly thinking he’s biracial and then having his mom and dad on there white as all the snowflakes. I think a theme of glee characterization is “if you’re not white, we WILL mention it”.
