it is fucking insane to think that just because a writer is american, they shouldn’t be faithful to the character they are writing and attempt to recreate their voice. my character is not me, and vice versa. i am not trying to sound british if i write for a character who is british, i am attempting to emulate their speech patterns and their manner.
